PICTURES: Crowds turn out in force for St Patrick's Day parade in Banagher

There was a great selection of entries for the parade as the community came together to celebrate the event

There was a great turnout on the streets of Banagher on St Patrick's Day for the annual parade on Tuesday afternoon. 

Fortunately, the weather stayed fine for the duration ensuring that the large crowd enjoyed all the festivities as they watched the parade.

There was a great selection of entries, from many of the local sports clubs, Banagher Ladybirds, the local Bronte Group - all suitably attired. 

There were also vintage vehicles, Offaly Search and Rescue team along with other floats, while Banagher Drama Group promoted their play 'Perfect Wedding' which is running this week.

John Dolan was also a popular attraction with his record breaking goose Concepta. Valerie Cormican and Lyn Lyons shared the MC job for the day and the organising committee put in a big effort again to make the event a great triumph.

Thanks were extended to everyone who took part and to all those who supported the parade. 

Banagher was one of several parades to be celebrated in Offaly on Tuesday as thousands of spectators lined the streets in towns and villages across the Faithful county to commemorate St. Patrick's Day.
