It was a cold and breezy morning at the weekend at Mountlucas parkrun when there was a number of milestones achieved and celebrated at the event. Karen Neary volunteered at parkrun for the 50th time.

Parkrun events are run entirely by volunteers and Karen, along with her son Sam, has made a significant contribution to Mountlucas parkrun since 2017.

Speaking to Karen after the event she said: "Honestly, I don’t really see it as an achievement, more a privilege! I feel lucky to be able to take part in parkrun on a Saturday morning and volunteering allows me to give something back to our parkrun community!"

Sean Reynolds completed his 25th parkrun, Michael O'Regan completed his 100th parkrun, and Janie Buckley completed her 200th parkrun.

Janie has completed the majority of her 200 parkruns at Mountlucas parkrun but has completed a significant proportion at other events, both nationally and internationally, and as far afield as America.
