PICTURES: The eye-catching photos that won Tullamore Camera Club's monthly competition

The April winners showcased their remarkable skills behind the lens

The Tullamore Camera Club have announced the latest winners of their monthly competition for April with some stunning photos on show. 

The competition was a tightly fought affair among the participants who were tasked with the theme of "Close up" for their entries.

Bridie Roe was awarded first place with her beautifully lit shot of a rose. Josie Corcoran's capture of a furtive peacock hidden amongst the foliage was voted in second place by the members on the night.

The Committee selected Rita Gannon's clever interpretation of the theme, a globe and magnifying glass, as the wild card of the month.

Finally, the guest judge, Fionnuala Parnell chose Jackie Morrissey's atmospheric shot of a frozen drop on a church gate.

Tullamore Camera Club will hold their next meeting on Thursday, April 30 at 8pm in the Offaly History Centre.

New members are always welcome as no experience is required.
