Cash, phones and tools stolen from cars and vans in Offaly
Cash, phones and tools were stolen from cars and vans in Offaly in separate incidents in recent weeks.
Gardaí are appealing to people to be more vigilant following three thefts from cars parked in Birr. Between January 13 and 15, an unlocked car in Syngefield was entered and a wallet stolen. The wallet contained a small quantity of cash.
On Friday January 17, at 5.30pm, an unlocked car on Green St, Birr was entered and a small amount of cash and a mobile phone stolen.
On Moorpark St, Birr, on Saturday January 18 a person was unpacking his car when someone stole a phone and wallet from his unattended car.
A numberof expensive power tools were stolen from a van parked in Cloghan recently.
The crime happened on Monday or Tuesday, January 27 or 28.
The thief, or thieves, gained access by forcibly opening the van's side door, damaging the lock.
Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact Birr Garda Station.
