Plans for new walking track and memorial wall in Offaly put on hold

Plans for a new walking track and memorial wall in Offaly have been put on hold.

Pullough Community Centre Committee applied for permission from Offaly County Council for the development at Dernagun, Ballycumber, Co. Offaly.

The proposed development would consist of the provision of proposed new car parking area with public lighting, a new public walking track and a  new memorial wall and all associated ancillary site works.

However the plans have been put on hold as Offaly County Council has sought more information before making a decision. 

Among other issues, Offaly County Council raised concerns over safe sight distance from the entrance, manoeuvering areas for vehicles and the width of the driveway within the car-park. 

The council is also seeking a lighting design report and illuminance drawing by a specialist lighting consultant or contractor.
