Man took deposit from Offaly woman for shed which never materialised
A man accused of taking a deposit for a shed without supplying the shed appeared at last week's district court.
Trevor Fitzgerald (54) Beechlane, Prospect Woods, Longford, was charged with dishonestly by deception inducing a woman to pay a deposit of €6,000 by bank transfer to him for a deposit for a shed which has never materialised ''with the intention of making gain'' for himself or another or ''causing loss to another,'' on July 13, 2022 at Clonbullogue, Offaly.
Barrister for Mr Fitzgerald David Nugent said Mr Fitzgerald had €5,000 with him in court.
Judge Cody said the woman has been three years without her shed.
He adjourned the case to January 27 and said he would finalise the case one way or another on that day.
