Dinner Dance

Thanks to everyone who attended our club Dinner Dance last night in the Tullamore Court Hotel and congratulations to all our medal recipients who received their senior football championship, u20 championship, Division 1&3 league medals

Huge thanks club legends to Justin “Hopper” O’Brien and Gareth Lenehan who presented the lads with their medals.

The highlight of the night was honouring the men who ended the clubs 23 year drought by winning the 2000 Dowling Cup after many days of heart break and ultimately creating the platform for the successes we have presently

Huge thanks to the organising committee of Pat Nolan, Aoife Marron, Matthew McCormack, Mark Lloyd, Martin Hynes who put together a wonderful memorable night and to Will O’Callaghan who was M.C on the evening.

Offaly Senior Hurlers

Congratulations to the Offaly Senior hurlers as their positive start to the Allianz National Hurling league continued with an impressive performance and victory over Antrim. We look forward to their next meeting with Dublin in Croke Park.

Minor Club

The Minor Club information meeting for all coaches and mentors took place on Wednesday 12th in the County Arms Hotel as they prepare for the season ahead. It is great to see the ball wall and astro-turf back in full use as our young players return to training.

Another great weekend in the Birr Minor Club League Forecast with Paul Scally hitting the Exacta predicting all results in all divisions and scooping €500. After three weeks on the overall table Pater Stokes, Neil Rogers and Andrew Moore lead the way on 49 points.

Last Man Standing

There were no casualties as the six remaining entrants in the winners’ section and the four survivors in the losers’ section made it safely through to Round 4 of our annual GAA Allianz League Last Man Standing competition last weekend. Next weekend is football-only.

Offaly Sports Partnership Activities continue this week with Pilates on Monday from 7.30pm to 8.30 followed by Mens Strength & Conditioning from 8.30 to 9.30. Circuit Class for Females with Caroline on Tuesday at 7.00 followed by Adult Pickleball at 8.00. Wednesday at 10 o’clock light exercise class and at 12 noon Social Darts Club and at 6.30 Female Boxercise. Also on Wednesday at 7.45 to 8.45 Beginner Bootcamp for men and women in the Community Centre. Walking Football continues on Wednesdays at 7.30 on astro turf in the Activity Centre,.On Thursdays at 10 o’clock Pickleball for two hours.

Well done to Donal Shirley and the Offaly Senior Hurlers who defeated Antrim 2-26 to 0-17 in round three of the league. This leaves Offaly sitting top of the table after three games. Up next is Dublin on 22nd February.

Ród Óg Athletic Development Programme with GPO Enda Dunne

Reminder our athletic development continues tonight for our U12 U14 & U16 boys. Excellent work getting done in the club by our GPO Enda Dunne and Coaching coordinator Anton Sullivan who have set up this fun filled initiative. New players are welcomed to call down to the gym.
