A man has been arrested in Co Leitrim by gardai investigating the discharge of a firearm.
The man, in his 30s, is being held at a Garda station after the incident at a residential location in Killargue on Friday.
A Garda spokesman said: “Shortly after 3.20pm, following an intervention by the Armed Support Unit, including the deployment of a Taser, a man was arrested outside the residence and a firearm was seized.
“The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. The firearm seized is now subject to forensic and ballistic examination.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
