A man has been charged following a €80,000 drugs seizure in Kileely, Co Limerick.
The man, aged in his 50s, has been charged and bailed to appear before Limerick District Court on the morning of Monday, April 22.
AS part of Operation Tara, Limerick gardaí seized approximately €80,000 of cocaine on Wednesday, March 28.
The search of a residential premises at Kileely was conducted by gardaí attached to Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit. During the course of this search suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €80,000 was recovered.
This seizure forms part of Operation Tara; an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by garda commissioner Drew Harris in July, 2021. The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
