Gardaí arrest two men after business in seaside village robbed at knifepoint

Gardaí have arrested two men after a business in a popular seaside village was robbed at knifepoint.

At approximately 7pm yesterday (Thursday January 18), a man entered a business premises on Pound Street, Rathmullan, Co Donegal armed with a knife and threatened staff. 

Nobody was injured during the incident and the man left the scene with a large sum of money. 

In a follow up search, Gardaí arrested two men (both aged in their 20s) and recovered the money and weapon. 

Both men are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Northern region.

Investigations are ongoing.
