Damer House in Roscrea
Pland to open a new café in Roscrea's Damer House have been submitted to Tipperary County Council for consideration.
Damer House, located in the grounds of Roscrea currently opens to the public as a heritage centre. The elegant three-storey Georgian house with nine bay windows was built by Joseph Damer in the early 18th century.
One of the rooms is furnished in period style. and also has a restored mill displaying the original St. Crónán's high cross and pillar stone.
Plans submitted for the eighteenth-century building include: change of use from a visitor centre/museum to a café in the ground floor of the annex building.

The Office of Public Works, who filed this planning application, also wish to reopen a window and two internal doors that were once in use in the building.
Damer House is a Protected Structure and is recorded on the Tipperary County Council record of protected structures (RPS No. TRPS924). Tipperary County Council is scheduled to make a decision on the proposal by January 17.
