Roscrea Lions Club, in association with Christian College Roscrea, held their 'Light it up for Gold' charity walk in the grounds of Mount St Joseph's, with all proceeds raised from the event going towards the Childhood Cancer Ireland charity.

Roscrea Lions Club wish to thank everyone who attended their 'Light it up Gold' walk on Saturday September 20th.

The walk was very kindly hosted by all in Cistercian College Roscrea who facilitated the walk and much needed refreshments for all the tired walkers after the event.

Despite the inclement weather, the rain certainly didn’t dampen spirits and everyone enjoyed the walk and chat.

Representatives Mairead Brennan and Varvara Redmond from CCI joined the Lions Club for the day and addressed the group to give an interesting insight into the wonderful work Childhood Cancer do.

Each year they provide vital supports to children receiving a cancer diagnosis, as well as providing invaluable support for their families.
