Tipperary Gardaí held an event last week where they aimed to reunite the owners of stolen property with items which Gardaí seized during the course of searches related to thefts in Tipperary.

The event, held in Littleton, was successful in some instances and Gardaí had a large selection of tools and equipment they want to return to their rightful owners. Approximately 10% of the stolen property on display in Littleton was reunited with the owners.

“If you have been a victim of a crime and your property was stolen, reach out to your local Garda Station with a description of the property and we will do our best to identify it and return it to you. Thank you to everyone that showed up, we are following up with further enquiries and will continue with our investigations”, Gardaí said.

David, who runs a hardware business in Thurles, had his power washer and power tools stolen from him in the past year. The items were recovered during an operation in the summer and Crime Prevention Sergeant John McCormack reunited David with his property.

Remember to record serial numbers and take photographs of your property in the event it is stolen to aid recovery, the Gardaí also advised.
