Lowry confirms €42-million for regional and local Roads

In a Statement issued today, Deputy Michael Lowry says: ‘I am delighted to confirm that Tipperary County Council is to be notified immediately that an allocation of €42-million is sanctioned for its 2025 Regional and Local Roads Programme.

This is an increase of over €6million, or 17%, on last year’s allocation.

‘During Government Formation Talks, I insisted on a substantial increase in this funding. I did so because many of our roads used by rural dwellers have deteriorated and are in need of restoration,’ Deputy Lowry said.

‘Also included is a River Suir package of €500,000. This money will be used to remediate bridges on the river route,’ he says.

Deputy Lowry adds, ‘I am currently in discussions with the Department to get increased funding for private and public lanes under the LIS and CIS Schemes’.
