New changing facilities in Dromineer to be finished by end of 2025

CLLR Joe Hannigan wondered what the timeline for the new centre for water sports activities, which will include a changing facilities / toilet block, in Dromineer will be, during the January meeting of Nenagh Municipal District.
He was told by a member of the Council executive, Rosemary Joyce, that temporary portaloos were installed in the village just before the Christmas period and that “the new toilet block is being done in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and we have to meet their standards.
"Because of the snowfall we were asked by contractors to extend the tender period for a short while. We expect to appoint a contractor by the end of February.
"We will demolish the existing toilet block and create a new facility on that site. Accessibility through footpaths and connecting to businesses will be a feature of the project. The changing rooms will be at decent standards. It won't be open by this summer but we hope to have it open by the end of the year,” she told the councillors.
The new facility centre for water sports activities was first announced in Autumn 2022. The proposed single-storey 12 x 5m centre will have a green roof. Associated site works including access ramps and service connections are included in the plan.
