The HGV seized by Gardaí in Roscrea
Tipperary Roads Policing Unit were operating a speed check in Roscrea on Friday and detected an articulated lorry being driven more than 32km/h over the speed limit.
After stopping the vehicle, upon inspection the Gardaí discovered that the tax disc on display in the windshield of the lorry actually belonged to a car and had expired over eight months ago.
Gardaí also examined the vehicle's tacograph and discovered it was not operating and seized the vehicle on the roadside.
A short time after the Gardaí detected another motorist who was speeding in the same area and when they were stopped the Gardaí's mobility device confirmed the driver was disqualified.
This vehicle was also seized and both drivers will be before the courts.
