James Brazil added another prestigious title his WKO and National Championship victories from last year
Offaly Kickboxer James Brazil claimed the Junior Irish Open International Sports Kickboxing association (ISKA) title in Waterford on Saturday, April 11.
He moved up from 75kg to 80kg for the tournament emerging victorious in the 15-17 years grade ahead of Bailey Pierce who finished second and Evan Finn who placed third.
The future looks bright for James following his dominant display in Waterford as he has two more years at that grade having only just turned sixteen on St. Patrick's Day.
The talented youngster is part of the Underground Kickboxing Club in Tullamore and continues to be hugely successful within the sport under the mentorship of his coach Dawid Rusiniak.
Underground Kickboxing Club paid Tribute to James' latest victory on Facebook with a congratulatory post. They wrote: "Our W.K.O. World & National Champion lands himself another title on his menacing resume, James secured Junior Irish Open ISKA title over the weekend in Waterford after rolling over the competition."
They continued: "He’s a very proud man coming home to Tullamore and he will soon be running out of wall space for all his accomplishments. Well done James and Coach Dawid."

The ISKA title adds to the remarkable collection of titles James has garnered during his decorated career in the sport.
The prolific young kickboxer competed at the WKO (World Kickboxing Organisation) Championships at the Metrodome in Barnsley last August winning gold and becoming Underground's first-ever world champion.
He followed up on this success just a matter of weeks later as he once again won gold at the National Championships at the Limerick Combat Gym in September, 2025.
James' previous fight before the Irish Open saw him beat Tipperary's Tommy Powell in a highly-anticipated exhibition bout in Navan in February.
The two gold medalists faced off in a fiercely contested match at the Nemesis event in O'Mahony's GAA Club where James came out on top with his pressure, speed, skill and range of combinations proving too much for his opponent.
The Tullamore native will now look to continue his impressive winning streak throughout 2026 including defending his national title later in the year.
