John Clendennen

JOHN Clendennen TD has welcomed confirmation that €343,908 has been awarded under the CLAR Programme, supporting seven community led projects across County Offaly.

This investment will deliver a wide range of improvements including new walkways, upgraded car parks, new and enhanced astro turf pitches, community facility upgrades and biodiversity works, benefitting rural communities in Coolderry, Clonfanlough, Croghan, Kilclonfert, Longford and Roscomroe.

The funding is provided under the Developing Community Facilities and Amenities strand of CLAR, which supports small scale capital projects aimed at strengthening community infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in rural areas.

Deputy Clendennen said “This significant CLAR allocation will deliver real and lasting improvements to communities across Offaly. I extend my warmest congratulations to the local groups whose dedication and vision have brought this funding to fruition, and to my Fine Gael colleagues who worked closely with them to secure this investment. From upgraded walkways and better equipped sports facilities to enhanced community amenities and improved public spaces, these projects will make our towns and villages better places to live, work and raise a family.”
