There was a strong turnout for Offaly Local Development Company's 'Breakfast and Banter' event in Charleville Centre, Tullamore to mark International Men's Day on Wednesday morning, November 19.
It was attended by more than 100 men from all across the county and beyond as they came together for a relaxing and uplifting morning focused on celebration, connection and wellbeing.
The event paid homage to the positive contributions men make within their families and communities whilst also creating an open, supportive space to talk about men's health.
The purpose of the morning was to break down barriers by encouraging honest conversation in a welcoming, informal manner as men are often less likely to reach out for help.
Breakfast was provided by Café Inspire, the student-run restaurant at the Tullamore Community Training Centre before two guest speakers offered their insights as part of International Men's Day.

Dr. Domhnall McGlacken-Byrne who is a Specialist Registrar in Public Health Medicine spoke about men’s general health and offered practical advice on staying proactive in managing wellbeing.
He encouraged the attendees to feel confident asking their GPs important health questions and emphasised the value of early, preventative care.
Domhnall was followed by former Offaly GAA Chairman and RTÉ hurling analyst, Michael Duignan, who delivered an inspiring talk on the importance of family, community connection, and maintaining a positive mindset when navigating life’s challenges.
Holistic health coach Mark Lowry of Enjoy Smart Health also led the group in gentle stretching exercises helping everyone unwind and reconnect with their bodies.
The morning concluded on a warm and cheerful note with a sing-song led by PJ Smyth and Eddie Dowling leaving attendees in high spirits.
Offaly Local Development Company commented: "We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who took part and contributed to making the event such a meaningful and enjoyable celebration.
They continued: "The organisation looks forward to continuing its work in supporting men’s health, community connection, and positive wellbeing across the county.
