Leading university unveils plans for development in Offaly
A leading university has unveiled plans for a big development in Offaly.
TUS Technological University of the Shannon, Midlands Midwest, Athlone is applying for permission for the development at Mount Lucas.
The proposed development would consist of the removal of the existing container unit Number 1 from the north of the site and replace with two units.
These proposed units would be a new innovation suite and store prefabricated building of 68m2 and a welfare unit of 11m2 2.
The plans also include the relocation of three existing containers further to the southwest of the site and to erect two new units.
These units would be a new bio refinery prefabricated building of 36m2 and na ew living laboratory prefabricated building of 36m2.
Additionally, the plans include the construction of four, six metre high poles for internet access points, new entrance gates, fencing and signage and a new secure compound with fence and gates.
A planning application has been lodged with Offaly County Council with a decision due in late November.
