Latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland for the coming week

The latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland for the coming week is in and it is not looking good for the first week of September. 

According to Met Eireann, there will be showers and more prolonged spells of rain this week with temperatures reaching into the mid to high teens.

According to Met Eireann, there'll be widespread showers on Monday, along with occasional sunshine. The showers will be heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees with moderate west to southwest winds.

Monday night will see a mix of clear spells and well scattered showers, some heavy in the northwest. Winds will become light southerly or variable so patches of mist and fog will form. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees.

According to Met Eireann,there will be sunny spells and scattered showers on Tuesday, mainly in the north and west at first but becoming more widespread during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with light southwesterly winds.

Tuesday night will start off mostly dry with clear spells and just isolated showers. However, rain will move into the southwest and will extend northwards across much of the country overnight, turning heavy at times in the south. Winds will be mainly light and variable but may strengthen for a time in the southeast. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees.

There will be a cloudy and wet start to Wednesday, with the heaviest rain in the southeast. The rain will gradually clear eastwards through the day and will be followed by sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with moderate westerly winds.

Wednesday night will be mostly dry with clear spells, although some cloud and rain is possible in the south and there'll be some showers in the west and northwest. Patches of mist and fog will form in light and variable winds. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees.

According to Met Eireann, Thursday morning will be mostly dry and sunny although there'll be a few showers towards Atlantic coasts. Showers will develop in other areas during the afternoon but there'll still be plenty of dry and bright weather. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with a light to moderate westerly breeze.

Thursday night will see a few showers in the west and northwest but otherwise dry with long clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in a light to moderate southerly breeze.

On Friday, according to Met Eireann, cloud is forecast to increase on Friday, bringing isolated light showers. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with a moderate southwesterly wind.

Met Eireann says that current indications are for breezy conditions at the weekend with sunny spells and some showers on Saturday, before turning more unsettled on Sunday.
