ALERT: Ireland set to sizzle as Met Eireann issues rare Weather Warning for heat

Ireland is set to sizzle as Met Eireann has issued a rare Weather Warning for heat.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow - High Temperature warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon and Tipperary

Maximum temperatures have reached in excess of 27°C combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C expected.

Met Eireann warns of water safety issues due to increased use of lakes/beaches, forest fires a possibility, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and heat stress

The warning is valid from noon on Friday until 6am on Saturday
