ALERT: Met Eireann Rain Warning issued for parts of Ireland for Bank Holiday Monday

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for parts of Ireland for Bank Holiday Monday.

Met Éireann has issued a Warning for Galway, Mayo and Kerry with a band of rain set to cross the country.

Met Éireann is warning that on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon and evening, there will be heavy rain with very strong, gusty southerly winds near the coast.

Met Éireann says that possible impacts include localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions. The warning will be in place from 2pm until 10pm on Monday.

The Met Éireann weather forecast for Bank Holiday Monday says that the day will start mostly dry with sunny spells and isolated showers. Rain will develop in the west in the early afternoon and spread eastwards through the late afternoon and evening, turning heavy with spot flooding possible. Becoming windy also with fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds and with gales along the west coast. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees.
