Met Eireann forecasts when heavy downpours of rain could hit Ireland on Tuesday

In its latest weather forecast for Ireland, Met Eireann warns that Ireland could me in for some heavy downpours of rain on Tuesday with a low pressure system tracking across the Atlantic towards Ireland.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, in Tuesday morning there will be some hazy sunshine in the east. Rain in the west will extend eastwards through the morning and early afternoon with some heavy downpours possible. Further rain or showers will follow later in the day. Breezy with fresh southeast winds, veering southwesterly as rain clears. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.

According to Met Eireann's hourly forecast for Tuesday, western parts of the country will start to see rain falling from 9am onwards with the heaviest rain expected between 12pm and 4pm before clearing to showers later in the day. 

Counties in the Midlands can expect heavy rain in the middle of the afternoon while counties in the east of the country can expect the heaviest rain in the late afternoon and into the evening. 

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, rain and drizzle will gradually clear southwards on Tuesday night with most of the country becoming dry. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in a light to moderate northerly or variable breeze.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, Wednesday will be a brighter day overall with sunny spells, but scattered showers too. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in moderate north or northeasterly breezes, becoming mainly light in the evening.

Dry and clear on Wednesday night, though some mist and fog will develop in places. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in a light easterly or variable breeze.
