Congratulations to the Coláiste Naomh Cormac senior Irish debating team, who triumphed in their debate recently, earning a well-deserved spot in the regional final!

The team travelled to King’s Hospital School in Dublin to compete in the second round of Gael Linn’s prestigious Comórtas an Phiarsaigh.

The team, consisting of Rachel MacIntyre, Jack Flatherty, and Jiani Guinan, passionately debated in favour of the motion Is aoibhinn beatha an pholaiteora in Éirinn (The life of a politician is wonderful in Ireland). With the support of their teammate Lucy FitzGerald, who was on international duty with the Irish U-19 soccer team, the debaters presented a series of compelling arguments and rebuttals.

Facing off against Pobalscoil Teaghlaigh Naofa from Naas and Meánscoil Iognáid Rís from Rathcoole, the Coláiste Naomh Cormac team engaged in three vigorous debates, showcasing their exceptional skill and dedication. After a series of articulate and thoughtful exchanges, the team successfully qualified for the next round, which will be the regional final, set to take place in early May.

A special congratulations to the entire team, as well as to their teacher, Ms Browne, for their hard work and dedication.

Go n-éirí libh agus comhghairdeachas!
