Sacred Heart School Tullamore senior choir rehearsing in Maynooth
THE Senior Choir of the Sacred Heart School, Tullamore, is set to captivate audiences with their upcoming live performance on RTÉ as part of the televised Sunday Mass on Sunday, January 26.
This special Mass, to be celebrated by the school’s chaplain, Fr Joe Campbell, is expected to provide a spiritually enriching experience for viewers.
The liturgy will feature a stunning selection of sacred music, including compositions by some of Ireland’s foremost liturgical composers.
Under the expert guidance of the school’s music department, the Senior Choir has curated a repertoire that highlights the depth and beauty of Irish liturgical traditions.
The school says the choir's upcoming performance stands as a testament to the student’s dedication, talent, and passion for sacred music.
In preparation for this significant event, the choir recently travelled to St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, for a choral workshop.
The day offered the students a valuable opportunity to refine their performance, explore the picturesque South Campus, and sing in the historic Gunn Chapel, renowned for its exceptional acoustics and rich history.
This live broadcast from the RTE studios in Donnybrook will allow viewers to experience a moment of inspiration and connect with Ireland’s profound musical and spiritual heritage, the school says, and is a unique opportunity to witness the fruits of the choir’s hard work and dedication.
The performance comes at the end of Catholic Schools Week which runs until Saturday, January 25.
Tune in to RTÉ 1 on Sunday, January 26, at 11am to enjoy the liturgy and celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Sacred Heart School’s Senior Choir.
