Sunscreen on! Met Éireann forecasts highest temperatures over 20 degrees but it won't last long!

Sunscreen on! Met Éireann forecasts highest temperatures of 21 degrees today (May 13)

High temperatures are forecast for Ireland today with temperatures set to reach highs of 21 degrees in places.

That's according to Met Éireann, which forecasts temperatures of between 16 and 21 degrees in a light variable breeze with the chance of isolated showers this afternoon.

Tonight will be dry with clear spells turning cloudier with rain spreading from the west overnight.

Temperatures will not fall beneath 7 to 10 degrees in a light to moderate southwesterly breeze.

However the high temperatures are not going to last long with temperatures set to drop tomorrow.

According to Met Eireann, it will be cloudy tomorrow morning with outbreaks of rain over the eastern half of the country. Drier further west with sunny spells and scattered light showers developing, extending to all areas through the morning and early afternoon. Noticeably cooler with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, northwest winds.

In better news, temperatures are set to rise through next week with Met Eireann forecasting that high pressure will dominate our weather next week, bringing largely dry conditions and a good deal of sunshine. Feeling cool at the start of the week but turning warmer as the week goes on.
