Gardaí in Tullamore have launched an investigation after windows at a local church were smashed in recent days.
104 windows at St. Catherine's Church at Hophill in Tullamore were smashed between 5pm on Tuesday, October 30 and 5pm on Wednesday, October 31, gardaí confirmed to the Offaly Express.
The windows of the church were targeted in what gardaí have described as "a very serious incident" with 104 individual panes of glass receiving significant damage.
Gardaí estimate that tens of thousands of Euros worth of damage has been caused at the church.

Authorities told the Offaly Express that officers are "actively investigating" and working to establish the circumstances of the damage.
Although not CCTV footage is available from the church itself, "footage from nearby cameras is being examined," Tullamore gardaí said.
They are also appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious or criminal behaviour in or near the grounds of St. Catherine's Church in the days specificied to contact them in Tullamore Garda Station on 057-9327600.
