An Offaly prop is set for his Six Nations debut as he is in the matchday squad for Ireland's clash with France.

Birr's Michael Milne has been named on the replacements bench for the showdown in Paris on Thursday evening. 

Now playing with Munster, Milne has two previous caps for Ireland which came against Georgia and Portugal in 2025.  

He began playing with Birr RFC and made his first competitive appearance for Leinster in 2019.

The Irish squad prepared for the game with a training camp in Portugal last week.

Caelan Doris will lead the side as Ireland open their 2026 Championship campaign at Stade de France.
