The former Fastway distribution centre in Portarlington has been put up for let. Clemont Herron Real Estate has listed the building and its adjoining offices which have a combined space of 58,500 sq ft. The estate agent states that the building on the Botley Road in Portarlington will be available from January 1, 2026.

In late October 2025, the Nuvion Group, a delivery and logistics company, went into receivership and Fastway was among its franchises.

Fastway Couriers employed a number of workers at its Botley Lane hub in Portarlington. Dozens of other jobs, including many who are sole operators and subcontractors in the delivery network, were affected by the closure.

Clement Herron said the building never belonged to Fastway Couriers. He said despite the rumours, the building isn't on the market in some kind of fire sale. He explained that it was leased from a businessman in Portarlington who is now hoping to attract a new tenant.

Mr Herron said it was "terrible" what had happened to the workers in Portarlington. He now hopes a new employer can be attracted to the town.

The building has a concrete yard covering 1.8 hectares and five loading bays with excellent accessibility.  “Previously utilised as a logistical centre, this substantial property offers a range of unique features to suit a variety of business uses. The main building extends to over 52,000 sq. ft. on the ground floor, complemented by an office block of approximately 6,500 sq. ft. comprising multiple offices, canteen, and WC facilities,” the advertisement for the building states.

Located on Botley Lane, Portarlington, Mr Herron said “this site enjoys convenient transport links to Dublin, Limerick, and other major routes, making it ideal for distribution, storage, or manufacturing purposes.”

Mr Herron said his primary instruction from his client was to get a new tenant into the building but when pressed on a guide price if it was to be sold, he said it would be in the region of €9 million.
