Tributes have poured in following the sad death of popular Offaly man Johnny Dillon, late of Melbourne, Australia and formerly Gurteen, Killeigh, County Offaly, who passed away peacefully on Saturday November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Pre-deceased by his parents Jimmy and Maisie and by his brother Gerry, Johnny will be sadly missed by his wife Joanne, daughters Amy and Charlotte and their partners, his grandchildren Finn and Darcie, brothers Paddy, Alo and Tom, sister Marian, sisters in law Phyllis, Geraldine, Dolores and Anne, brother in law Frank, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and his many relatives and friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Johnny throughout the years in Ireland and Australia, where he had emigrated many years ago.
One mourner said,
"Condolences to Paddy, Alo, Marian and Tom and all of the Dillon families in Ireland and Australia. Good recollections of Johnny from the early 70s and of his recounting of his time in London. Also fond memories of Johnny when he was last home and of a sing song out in the White House. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá anam."

"My condolences to the Dillon family on Johnnie’s death. We attended CBS Tullamore, and travelled to and from school on Smollen’s bus in the 1960’s. Happy days."

"May you rest in peace Johnny . Fond memories of you in your home house in Gurteen with all your brothers and sister Marie and your parents Jimmy and Mazie."
Funeral details have not been disclosed as of yet but will be announced on RIP.ie in due course.
