Planning permission has been sought for major upgrades to a large factory in Tullamore.

Synergy Health is seeking planning permission for a major expansion of its Offaly facility in the IDA Business and Technology Park in Tullamore. The plans include the construction of a new single-storey extension to the Goods-In Warehouse at the southern elevation of the existing building.

The plans also involve the demolition of the current office accommodation and the construction of new offices along the newly extended front elevation.

In addition, the existing car park will be expanded to provide 34 additional parking spaces, and an area of public amenity land to the south-west will be reconfigured. This includes the relocation of the footpath, seating, and trees, along with landscaping and other associated site development works.

The proposed development will take place on a site designated as a Seveso III Lower Tier establishment, licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency.

A submission or observation in relation to the application can be made in writing to the planning authority for a prescribed fee of €20. This must be within five weeks of the authority first receiving the planning application.

Any submissions or observations on the proposed project must be submitted by November 26, with the final decision on the planning application taking place on December 17.
