Demolition work at Offaly primary school could pave way for big extension

The new application was submitted by the board of management at Oxmantown National School

Plans have been unveiled for works on the Oxmantown National School, located on Model School Road and Pound Street in Birr.

The proposed development which involves a protected structure were revealed as part of a new planning application which was submitted by the board of management of the school to Offaly County Council on October 22.

The plans include the demolition of a stone shed structure and sections of the existing stone boundary along Pound Street with demolition, alteration and elevation changes to the existing building.

This will pave the way for the planned construction of a single storey extension connecting to the existing school building.
