Over 900,000 cigarettes seized during major operation in Offaly
Over 900,000 cigarettes were seized during a major operation in Offaly on Thursday.
Gardaí and Revenue seized €858,500 worth of cigarettes following a joint operation the county.
Gardaí in Offaly carried out searches under warrant of two properties in Edenderry and Rhode and recovered 906,000 cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €858,500.
Revenue Customs Officers have seized the cigarettes which have now been taken for further examination.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
