Popular Offaly service station given green light for major development works
A popular Offaly service station has been the given green light for major development works.
Lambe's Oil have been given the green light for the development at its premises on the Kilbeggan Road in Clara.
The plans include the change of use of part of the adjoining stores of the existing premises known as Mace for the expansion of the shop.
This will include new toilet facilities, storage and a new deli area. It will also see the relocation of the off-licence, stairwell and staff facilities, relocation of entrance to shop from forecourt, additional fire escapes, pv roof panels, plant, adjustments to roof to form new parapet with signage and all internal modifications.
The plans also include an associated carpark to the rear of the adjoining Clara depot building, the demolition of an existing single storey store, the removal of the shared boundary wall to create 17 car parking spaces, a loading bay, EV charging points, bin storage and bike store.
Also in the plans are adjustments to the street boundary to provide a wider vehicular entrance to Bridge Street.
Offaly County Council granted permission with ten conditions attached. Details of the conditions have not yet been published.
