Busy street in Offaly will be closed for up to five weeks

The decision was made in order to improve footpaths and streets in the designated area

Offaly County Council say busy road in prominent town will be closed for up to five weeks

Local access to properties and households in the area will be maintained

Offaly Council have stated that Church Street in Banagher is set to be closed from the middle of this week. 

The central road will be closed to vehicular traffic from the town's Main Street to Banagher Relief Road from Wednesday, October 8 for up to five weeks. 

The road closure is being put in place to facilitate footpath and street improvement works in the area. 

The council issued a notice of the decision to temporarily close the road in accordance with section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 and part 8 of the Road Regulations 1994.

Local access to households and properties will be maintained at all times along the affected section of the road under the traffic management arrangements.
