Tullamore development said to be in 'most desirable location'

New housing development coming on market in Offaly

A NEW scheme of houses and apartments in Tullamore will be released for sale next week.

Darach Mor is a development off the Arden Road with a mix of four-bed detached houses, two and three-bed semi-detached homes, two-bed bungalows, three-bed duplex and one-bed apartments.

Selling agents Sherry Fitzgerald Lewis Hamill and Dillon Marshall say all the residential units will have an A energy rating and will be located among 3.5 acres of amenities such as walkways, cycle tracks, play areas and seating.

The estate is on a greenfield site bounded by the Arden Road (“undoubtedly Tullamore's most desirable location” according to the online brochure), the Dr Kelly's Field (Sportslink) sports ground, Ballin Ri and Collins Lane.

None of the houses front directly onto Arden Road but will be accessed by a short lane situated between two existing residences just north of the Sportslink site.

Though the developers say the scheme will be launched on Friday, October 10 next, no prices have been revealed.

Potential buyers can register their interest online.

Permission was originally sought for 88 units in the first phase of a potential 173-house development but following interaction with Offaly County Council planners, consent was granted for 98 dwellings and the applicants indicated that there will ultimately be a total of 196.

The original applicant was Rocktop Asset Management, Ltd, Moneyquid, Killeigh, whose directors were Michael Fogarty and Noel Harrington.

The landowner was Sea Hero Ltd, Leixlip, Co Kildare, a company controlled by Luke Comer and Barry Comer.
