In a week where he has been selected to play in the Ryder Cup for a third consecutive time, and as he prepares to play in the Irish Open at the K-Club, what better time to look back on the event that set Shane Lowry on the road to global fame. As an amateur in 2009, he teed off at the Irish Open in Baltray and defeated the field to claim the title.
