Speeding Mercedes driver arrested over Formula 1 speeds on motorway in the Midlands
Gardaí arrested a Mercedes driver who was caught driving at Formula 1 speeds on a motorway in the Midlands.
Laois Roads Policing Unit detected a Mercedes driving at a whopping 212kph on the M7.
Gardai took to social media to highlight the speed and also to point out the consequences.
“Toto Wolff might tolerate a flying lap in Monaco……but not on the M7 in Laois,” Laois Gardai posted beside an image of the car.
“On a public road there are no trophies, no champagne, and no chequered flags. Just a driver in handcuffs and a pit stop at a Garda station,” Gardaí added.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
