Green light given for new athletics track in Offaly

An athletics club in Offaly has been given the green light for a new running track.

Naomh Mhuire applied for planning permission from Offaly County Council to construct the track on land with an address at Gorteenkeel, Geashill. The townland is midway between Daingean, Geashill and Walsh Island.

The development will include a a running track, carparking facilities associated lighting, an entrance from the public road, a temporary storage cabin and any associated site works.

The land for the development is being leased from Bord na Mona. 

Planning permission was granted with six conditions attached.
