TULLAMORE man Jordan Lynam did his town and county proud by making the shortlist for this year's Escort of the Year at the International Rose of Tralee competition.

The 25-year-old account manager was in the top three after a poll taken of all 32 Roses and Rose escorts at the famous Kerry festival.

He has spent the week escorting Carlow Rose Katie Ryan, pictured below.

Despite his huge popularity with the contestants and their escorts, Jordan just missed out on the top Rose escort prize, which went to Andy Rodgers.

The 2025 Escort of the Year is a Dublin firefighter who has been escorting UAE Rose Ceiline O’Meara.

The final man in the very short shortlist of three was 25-year-old Patrick Jordan, a car rental advisor from Dublin who is escorting Wexford Rose Clíona O'Leary.

Kathryn Thomas and Dáithí Ó Sé announced the result live on RTÉ One tonight (Monday, August 18), the first night of the Rose of Tralee TV show at Kerry Sports Academy, in the MTU.

More than 100 men aged between 21 and 31 applied to become Rose Escorts at this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival and following a detailed interview process, the final 32 were selected to take part in a Boot Camp Weekend in Kerry to help them prepare for a busy week at the Festival.

Rose Escort applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Festival and full details are available from www.roseoftralee.ie

Meanwhile, young Killeigh woman Nicole Heffernan, the Offaly Rose, will take to the stage on live TV tomorrow evening.

Nicole is Rose number six in the night's line-up. The TV show airs at 8pm on RTE One.
