Man appeared at Tullamore District Court
AN allegation of drugs possession against a man with an Edenderry address will be dropped unless the DPP issues directions on how the prosecution should proceed, a judge warned last week.
Conor Dunne (30), Cokery Lane, Edenderry, is alleged to have had drugs for sale or supply to others at 8A Cokery Lane, Edenderry on December 9 last year.
Sergeant Richard Thornton told Tullamore District Court that gardai were waiting for a certificate from Forensic Science Ireland and an adjournment was therefore being sought.
Judge Andrew Cody said the alleged offence was in December last year and while he would adjourn the prosecution on this occasion for directions from the DPP, on the next occasion the order would be peremptory against the DPP.

Judge Cody said that unless directions were available the prosecution would be struck out.
He remanded Mr Dunne on continuing bail to appear in court again on June 25 next.
Forensic Science Ireland analyses suspected drugs samples and issues certificates to the gardai.
