Met Eireann is warning that there could be some very heavy rain in parts of Ireland today with possible thunderstorms.
According to Met Eireann, the weather for Ireland will be mostly sunny today apart from patchy cloud and the chance of isolated showers near the east coast.
However Met Eireann adds that showers will develop across central and southern areas this afternoon and evening, some of them will be heavy with spot flooding and isolated thunderstorms possible. Highs of 16 degrees in the east to 22 degrees in the west, with light winds.
Most places will become dry tonight, with patchy cloud and clear breaks, with just the odd shower possible overnight. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees in light easterly or variable breezes.
According to Met Eireann, it will be largely dry with variable cloud and sunshine to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, but showers will soon develop, some of them heavy with spot flooding and isolated thunderstorms possible. Cloud will gradually build from the southwest during the afternoon and patchy rain and drizzle will push into Munster during the evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light southerly or variable breezes.
