Man failed to provide clear urine samples over a number of months
An Offaly man who failed to provide clear urine samples over a period of months was sent to prison at last week's district court.
In January 2023, Casey Naugthon, (25) of Philipsvale, Daingean, admitted to possessing drugs for sale or supply to others at a number of locations and on various dates. Mr Naughton was convicted and the value of the drugs was over €400. He was directed by the court to provide clear urine samples over three months.
Solicitor Patrick Martin said his client works on a regular basis but is between jobs. He has ADHD. He had difficulties, given his work recently which started at 4am and finished at 3pm. He also suffers from stress and anxiety.
Judge Andrew Cody said Mr Naughton had been given two opportunities to mend his ways.
He said he was given a chance last year to provide clear urine samples over a period of months and he provided just one. He imposed a prison sentence of six months.
