Sunday was a truly memorable day for Longford Slashers All-Ireland intermediate club championship medal winner Clare Farrell, the lead performance nutritionist, with Arne Slot's Liverpool FC.

There were incredible scenes of joy and emotion at Anfield as Liverpool crushed Spurs to land the Premier League title with four games to spare.

Clare joined Liverpool FC as lead performance nutritionist in the summer of 2024 and she certainly enjoyed the celebrations in front of the Kop End as fans, players and backroom staff sang the club's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

Prior to joining the Premier League champions, Clare, an accomplished Longford Slashers and Longford inter-county player, was lead performance nutritionist with the Munster Rugby men's team and was part of a successful 2023 season, which yielded a URC Final win in South Africa.

Longford Slashers GAA and Ladies clubs congratulated Clare on her superb achievement.

"Everyone at Longford Slashers would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Clare Farrell on her incredible involvement in Liverpool FC’s Premier League title triumph!

"Clare, who has had massive success over the years with our Ladies football team, has been leading the way as Liverpool’s Lead Performance Nutritionist since the summer of 2024, overseeing nutrition strategies to support the players’ health, performance, and recovery.

"We are all incredibly proud of your achievements and the role you have played in helping Liverpool reach the pinnacle of English football. Your success is an inspiration to everyone at Longford Slashers. Well done, Clare!"

Clare is one of four Irish connections with Liverpool's success. The first-team rehabilitation physiotherapist is Limerick's David Breen, an All-Ireland club medal winner with Na Piarsaigh, and of course Arne Slot's squad includes Republic of Ireland 'keeper Caoimhin Kelleher and Northern Ireland's Conor Bradley.
