'Our beautiful Rose'- Offaly nurse paid tribute by heartbroken community

Tributes have poured in for Offaly woman, Rosemarie Kearns, remembered as a dedicated nurse and a kind hearted, loving woman adored by all who knew her.

Rosemarie was from Fadden and formerly Cloghan in Offaly and died on April 7, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of ICU at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore.

She was a former Staff Nurse at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, was late of Lumcloon, Cloghan and was predeceased by her beloved parents, Kieran and Elizabeth Flaherty, brother Joseph and recently by her sister Mairead.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband Joe and family, Caroline, Anita, Joseph and Catriona, grandchildren, Séan, Katie, Joseph, Ellírose, Aibhín, Joey, Molly, Bobby, Michael, and Billy, sisters, Elsie and Mary, brothers, Kieran, Noel, Michael, Pat, Declan, and John, sons-in-law, Noel, Joe and Paul, daughter-in-law Jacintha, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Rosemarie, with one mourner writing,

"Our Deepest Condolences to Joe, his Son & Daughters, Grandchildren on Rose’s passing to her sisters, brothers, in-laws also, and the wider Rafferty & Kearns Families. Rose was a very good hearted, kind Lady. Our Lady of Clonfert comfort you all at this sad time. Olive (Donohoe) Tommy Flynn & Family Clonfert."

Another message said, "Our Beautiful Rose, no words can explain how we feel to have lost you. Our hearts will never recover. You were one kind, caring, loving sister, sister-in-law and auntie you will never be forgotten in our house. We love and miss you always Rose. May you Rest in peace, your brother John, Paula, Ciara, Jasmine, Kieran and Paul xxxx".

"I worked closely with Rosemarie for many years. Always a true friend ever willing to help. I have many fond memories of a totally dedicated nurse. A great organiser and manager who gave all of herself without compromise in the service of patients and others at MRHT. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May Rosemarie's gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace in Heaven," another mourner said.

"Such a shock to hear of the very sad passing of Rose, she was such a lovely lady, always looking so stylish. Will miss her presence around the village and in mass on a Sunday morning. Thinking of you all at this very sad time. May her gentle soul RIP," another tribute said.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Rosemarie will repose at her home on Wednesday (April 9) from 4pm to 7pm.

Removal on Thursday morning (April 10) to Ss. Patrick and Saran's Church, High Street, where her Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
