Housing development planned for this site in Rhode village
Conditional planning permission has been granted for the construction of a housing scheme in Rhode village.
Deirdre Mulvin and Anne Marie Kelleher (executors for the estate of the late Tony Mulvin) initially sought consent for 20 residential units but later revised the plan and told Offaly County Council that 17 houses would be built instead.
Council planners had raised some concerns about four maisonettes which were in the original plan.
The maisonettes were removed in the amended project and replaced with a single-storey two-bed home.

The other 16 houses are all semi-detached, including two four-beds, 12 three-beds and two two-beds.
There are 22 conditions with the permission but they have not yet been published by the council.
The site for the proposed development is opposite a shop and filling station on the R400 road to the Dublin-Galway motorway and Rochfortbridge in Co Westmeath.
