Two pedestrians hospitalised following serious Longford road traffic collision

The road traffic collision involving a car and three pedestrians occurred at around 2.20pm on Tuesday, February 25

Two pedestrians were hospitalised following a road traffic collision in Longford on Tuesday.

A road traffic collision involving a car and three pedestrians, two of whom were hospitalised, occurred on Tuesday afternoon and Gardaí said investigations are continuing.

The incident occurred in the Market Square area of Longford town and three ambulances and three Garda vehicles rushed to the scene.

Several people who were in the area and witnessed the incident are helping officers with their enquiries.

A Garda spokesperson said, "Gardaí in Longford received a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and three pedestrians at around 2.20pm on Tuesday, February, 25 2025.

"Two people were brought to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing," the Garda spokesperson added.
