Pensioner fined for being drunk on a bike in Tullamore

A man was fined €250 for public drunkenness after being seen swaying from side to side on a bicycle.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told Tullamore District Court that at 12.05am on May 10 last year, PJ Brady (67), Clonmore, Tullamore was seen at Cappincur, Tullamore

The court was told he was highly intoxicated on the bike and was arrested because he was a danger to himself. A fixed charge penalty notice had not been paid.

Mr Brady told the court he was under a lot of pressure at the time. Judge Andrew Cody gave six months to pay the fine.
