Teenage boy hospitalised after attack by group of males in graveyard in the Midlands

A teenage boy required hospital treatment after being assaulted by a number of males in Laois at the weekend. 

Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to the incident which occurred in the vicinity of a cemetery in Errill on Sunday evening between 7pm and 7.30pm. 

The teenage boy was allegedly set upon and beaten by three males at St Kieran’s Cemetery in Errill. 

It’s understood the victim who was attacked was 16 years-old and didn’t know his assailants. He was taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries following the assault. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information or dashcam footage from the area to contact them at Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100.
